QUESTIONS RE: CHANGING FROM SAMSUNG TO MOTOROLA

I've used Tracfone for years, and my last few yearly renewals have been Samsungs, purchased on HSN specials.

My current Samsung must be a lemon.

I activated it in May 2025, and I STILL can't get it programmed the way I want it.  (I've gone to see the Samsung guy at Best Buy four times.)

I'm also frustrated by the number of useless programs I can't uninstall.

So .......  I was just over at HSN looking at Motorolas, and they all seem to be pretty much the same.

My needs are simple for my phone; I do all financial things on my laptop.

So .............  for Motorola users, is there a phone you particularly like ... or don't like?

TIA!  Woman Happy

Re: QUESTIONS RE: CHANGING FROM SAMSUNG TO MOTOROLA

@Tinkrbl44

I'm on my third Motorola. I've had a Moto G Power, Moto G Power 2021, and recently bought a Moto G 2026. I had a Samsung maybe 15 years ago, so it would be unfair to compare to current Motorolas. I got fed up with a charging issue that I and others were having, and I never wanted another Samsung again. My sister likes Samsung though, and has used them for years. The Motos have a Help guide available in the settings that might be useful for you. Switching from one brand to another can take getting used to, they're not all exactly the same. My new Moto was so different from the last, it took me about 3 weeks to customize things to my liking. All Androids will have some apps that you can't uninstall, but you can disable them. What kind of programming issue are you having with your Samsung?

@Tinkrbl44  My gardener has the Motorola flip phone that  supposedly doesn't crease. When he first bought it he loved it and pulled it out tof his pocket to show me. I asked him about reception since his job takes him all over and he said it was flawless but I haven't asked him lately.  Like has he had any dead zones or dropped calls and does his new  phone show a crease yet (because I don't believe it despite their advertisements.)

If the tracfone website is selling Motorolas then it should be compatible on  its  network. I mention that because when the first Razr came out we each had one and loved it. It was a hinged flip phone and beautiful although hinged phones are so obsolete now no one  sells them. The other thing about that first Razr for some reason it was discontinued rather quickly or so it seemed at the time to me and  my husband  and it was not compatible on Verizon's network...we asked.

Re: QUESTIONS RE: CHANGING FROM SAMSUNG TO MOTOROLA

DH and I have never owned any Samsung phones.  My sister-in-law did and she had nothing but trouble with it and I know others have complained about the amount of bloatware on them.

We used to have LG phones but, when they stopped making phones, we went back to Motorola and have never regretted it.

I currently have the Motorola Edge and DH has the Moto G 2025 (128Gb).  We're both happy with our phones and find them easy to use and customize.  In the past we've had the Moto Power, Moto Stylus, etc.  All good phones.

I prefer to buy our phones from QVC, but that's just me.  I've had better luck with the Q; had an issue years ago with HSN and phones that didn't work in our area, despite them saying they would.  HSN wouldn't provide a prepaid return label and I had to pay over $15 to return them myself.

And that was a lot of money over a decade ago!  Especially for phones that didn't work.

Tracfone has tutorials for all the phones it sells on its website.  It might be a good idea to have a look there to see the features of what you're considering.

Re: QUESTIONS RE: CHANGING FROM SAMSUNG TO MOTOROLA

I've been a Moto G Stylus user for a few years now. It's a very good phone for me. A good amount of storage. It's fast. The stylus is handy if you need to jot a quick note. It has every feature I want and need. It's often on sale here or at HSN at a very good price. It's my go-to phone these days.

Re: QUESTIONS RE: CHANGING FROM SAMSUNG TO MOTOROLA

I would say that any Moto G model would be better than a Samsung. Motos are all I buy, either from HSN or QVC.
