When I get my new computer, it comes with Laplink to transfer from my old computer.  My question is, do I need anything special to transfer from one computer to another?  I don't know if I need something like a thumb drive, etc., to do this.  I don't think anything comes with the treasure bundle.  Would appreciate any imput from anyone.  TIA

You can transfer using WiFi.

Thank you Deeva.  Really appreciate you taking the time to answer.  We do have wifi, so I will try it as soon as the new computer arrives.

I use a Western Digital USB 3.0 HD for storage, and to transfer my data files.  I like this brand drive, becase it has a three year warranty. I buy from Amazon. I use a simple copy paste command to move data.

I like portable hard drives because they are small and easy to store.  I have one WD and 2 Toshiba.  I also use a combination of backup style (drag and drop to copy data and Time Machine (Mac), to create my backups.

I've never used Laplink to transfer data so I can't comment. I do hope you have the data you can't afford to lose stored someplace other than your computer's hard drive.  Ask anyone who has had a hard drive failure and lost everything and no backup how that works.
