I need some help please. Has anyone purchased storage to get more space on their iPad? I'm almost out of space. I've deleted all the photos that I want to. I now have 255 photos stored. I've deleted all the apps I don't need. I still can't print anything from my IPad because it still says that I don't have enough space. I don't want to import photos from the IPad to my laptop and I don't know how to do it. I tried once already. I gave up. It's only 99 cents a month to get 50 GB. Is this a good way to get space. It seems an easy thing to do and then I won't need to worry about it. I cannot afford a new IPad with a more space at this tim. Thanks a lot everyone for any suggestions.

It will just give you cloud storage. If that's what you need then sign up. If you need more capacity on your device, you can't add it after the fact. Now you can move all of your photos to cloud storage though and just view them in the cloud. But to run apps they have to be installed on the ipad itself.

What version ipad and what is the size? Do you have an apple computer? You could move your photos to your Mac using Airdrop, one at a time. Or back up to your laptop and then afterwards just delete what you need to from your ipad. Do you have videos on your ipad? They are space hogs. You can move them to your computer too. Same if you have a lot of music files, you could pare back there too.

@sundrops You only get what comes on your iPad so it is important to get a GB large enough when purchased. Did you clean out the cache in the Safari under Settings? Also do the Advanced under the Clean History and cache?
Then double click the Home button and CLOSE any apps still open. I had a friend having a space problem on her iPad and it had hundreds of open Apps
that I closed. Try that. I have 1,000's of photos on mine. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I have already cleared cookies, history etc. I doubled clicked the home button and nothing happened. I'm sure I don't have any apps open. My iPhone and iPad are synced together and I just read that the free 5 GB that we get is for my IPad and iPhone together! They share that 5 GB of space because they are synced. I didn't know that. I also just read more info on purchasing storage and since the price has really dropped I think I'll go that route. I'll probably do it tomorrow. I'll discuss it with my husband and then sleep on it. This kind of stuff gets me so stressed. LOL. Thanks again. I will check back for more replies before I do anything.

There are now flash drive type storage devices made for iphones, ipads that have the lightening connection. It doesn't actually add storage to the device. I don't believe you can add storage to them. But you could move pics to this device then when you want to see them, connect it to your phone.
Also be sure you have the latest iOS installed. That freed up alot of space on my iPad

Check your usage and I bet most is used up by "other". It's a category I have yet to figure out and you can't get rid of it unless you reset your iPad. Backup your iPad to your computer or cloud, do a facotry reset, then restore from your backup. I did this with my Macbook and gain 100 GB of space.

@sundropsI use an Apple App CCleaner for iPad or iPhone to clean the other area of my iPad4 and iPod Touch.
You should backup you tablet first.

@sundrops, I have purchased the extra space for the 99 cents/month and it's an easy solution in the shorter term. However, there are now at least three companies that I know of that make flash drives for iPads in different MB sizes, as long as your iPad has a lightning connector. Google (or go to Amazon and search for) "iPad flash drive."
If your iPad is so old that you have the 30-pin connector, you can use the Cloud storage for now and buy the flash drive when you buy a new iPad.

How did you do that? I have CCleaner on my Macbook and iMac and it has never gotten rid of the "other" files.
