Problem scrolling thru notes on iPod Touch 4th Gen

I have lots of notes, bot can only scroll down 32 lines before it kicks back to the home screen. Apple support could not figure out what is causing the problem. The notes are still there and will come up using search - if I can remember the name. Has anyone had this problem too?
