A printer that is AirPrint compatible will be able to print from an iPad or iPhone device. Most if not all new printers on the market have AirPrint capabilities. As far as your HP laptop, any printer will work for you as long as the printer is compatable with your version of windows. Inkjet printers come in color printing only, although through your printer settings you can select black only. If you strictly want black and white documents and have no desire to print in color, a black and white laser printer will do the trick. Keep in mind the cost of ink or toner when selecting a printer.

All printers are 4-c printers you can usually just print pages as black and white

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

Check my post from a bit ago about Printer Pro for iPad. If you have a printer you might be able to get your iPad and iPhone to work without buying a new printer with AirPrint...DW

I have 4 printers now (3 HP and 1 Cannon). I do not have one of the HP's hooked up yet.

I just order them from HSN. They're usually under $100 and free shipping.

You can pick the color ink you want to use. Almost all printers have everything on them these days.

I have an IPAD Air, IPAD, IPHONE 5 and several other Apple products.

I can use these printers with all of them.

I also have a SAMSUNG laptop and use the printers for it also.
