I downloaded the Norton ad blocker app.  So far no pop ups!  Fingers crossed there won't be any more.  Thanks everyone!  😊

I have an iPhone 6S+ and did update to ios12.  Not only do I not have any problems, my phone seems to work better.  My iPad Air definitely works better after the update. (Except I can't get used to the emoji and numbers keys being reversed now.)  It isn’t a huge update and changes very little. 

 

Just to let you know how it went for me...🙂

Just a note to let you know yesterday’s iOS 12.0.1 update switched numeric and emoji keyboard positions back to original positions. I too was having difficulty with that.
