I have ComCast internet installed so my work computer can be hard wired to it.
I'm trying to attach a wifi router to the firewall from my employer (with their permission) for our home internet access. But I haven't been able to do it. I have NETGEAR N600 dual band router.
Is this something that someone can lead me through step-by-step?
this is what they emailed me:
"The wireless router is not installed in access mode. They probably have the network cable running from our firewall to a port labeled ‘wan’ or ‘external’ on the wireless router. That type of configuration will not work. The cable will need to be connected to one of the ‘switch ports’ on the wireless router. There are a few other settings that need to be made within the wireless routers configuration also (like disabling DHCP)"
Thank You!
