i have had ipads and found I prefer android for android is more customizable and the settings are easier to manuver and understand.  but prettyuch the same apps  are available on the ipad  even gmail. Its not a hard transition Remember ipad has  no sd card slot so you may want to choose a model slightly bigger than what you need. . The ipad air 2 is a very old model.  The new ipads are about to be released so an ipad pro  and ipad mini 4  are discounted everywhere now prettymuch

I use an old iPad 2 and a newish Samsung S2 pad.  They're both about the same size but the Samsung is much lighter weight, has a brighter display and uses an Android operating system.  Once I got everything set up, I don't notice much difference.  I go back and forth between the two without much thought.  Both have advantages and disadvantages.  I wouldn't pay what they want for a new iPad.  I got a "deal" on my Samsung and am glad I got it.  I can expand the memory using a SD card.  It has been extremely satisfactory.

I have Ipad 2 and 3 and a Amazon fire 5th generation. I see no real difference in any of them. I really like the fire better maybe because it is newer or much cheaper. Or maybe because it is a android who knows?
