First of all, I am a beginner in knowledge of this area, as most of my experience with computers was at work, where the virus protection, etc., was provided by the internet service person and we didn't have to do anything in this area.
My question is what do you need to protect your computer from viruses, being slow, being vulnerable to hackers, etc?
I know you need virus protection but that is about it. What else do you have to do on a regular basis for your computer's operation and safety?
I compact files and defrag on a daily basis, but as far as cookies, malware, spyware, and all that other "stuff", I am at a loss. I know I could probably find it on the web, but so much is above my level that I don't understand it. Plus, there is a lot of misinformation out there, too.
Thank you in advance for any responses.
