Can I watch movies or TV shows for free, if I have PRIME???

The answers on Amazon don't say free, just a rental or purchase price.  So would I just be renting or does PRIME mean I can watch for free?  ThankYou in advance---tedEbear

It will say "included with your prime membership" if they're free.  There are a lot of free movies.  I just joined recently and haven't really checked the TV shows.

Yes, however not all are free.   If you go to Amazon Video and click on the included with Prime, these are the free movies and TV series.   There are a ton of free movies and TV shows.

I never watched Downtown Abbey when it was on PBS.  Started watching it a couple of months ago through Prime and am now up to season 4.   It was free with Prime.

However, one thing I have noticed is that one time I see a movie or show is free and next time there will be a charge.   So be careful and make sure that it is free.

Hey Teddy!   What is cool is that the Amazon 'original programming' is free to watch when you have Prime.

But to be fair, I don't even know if it is also free when you don't have Prime.  I've had Prime for a number of years, definitely preceeding the onset of Amazon's original shows.  Smiley Happy

I checked one a few days ago and it was $1.99 per 30 min episode.  I though that was very expensive.

If it says, Prime, you should see $0.00 after the title. I only watch movies so I have no experiences with TV series shows. I have watched several 4k movies for free. Talk about amazing video?

I found that out early on also. I had been doing a 'free' exercise routine then went to do it and there was a rental or purchase fee if I wanted it. I had thought it would always remain Prime ! Oh well. I appreciate a Prime membership. I just look at it as paying a streaming service all at once instead of monthly like Netflix and it has free shipping on so much.

I do hope they offer the last season of Downton Abbey free soon! I waited so I could binge watch.

I haven't had cable TV for years & have been using Prime Video for most of my TV/movie watching for over a year. I love it! I only watch the free ones. There are some I'd like to watch that are not free but, with so many free ones, I haven't felt the need to pay for anything.

I am also waiting for the last season of Downton Abbey to be available for free. It was the first show I started watching when I got Prime. I tend to pick a series & binge watch all the available episodes/seasons. Right now I am enjoying BBC's Inspector Lewis.
