Outdated drivers

How do I update "drivers" on my laptop? I keep getting messages saying that my computer is slow and has "ancient" drivers. I have a 3 year old Toshiba laptop that's recently been infected with 31 viruses. I have Norton Anti virus but apparently viruses can still squeak through. Should I take it to "Best Buy" or some place like that to get it cleaned up?
