I'm using the free version of Outlook on my laptop and desktop. I had contacts all set up on both (also have a csv file backup of each) but all of a sudden today (3/24) they are not showing up. When I click on "people" I get this error "This doesn't look right" with a Try Again box. I didn't get any updates (I have them turned off for different reasons on each) so it wasn't that.
This is very frustrating and I can't find any help that is recent on internet searches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's strange. When I google " recover Outlook contact list" and " lost Outlook contact list " and " why did my Outlook contact list disappear".. I get a ton of answers
I learned ar work the first time i couldnt find a file to look inside other files to see if I had woth a flick of my mouse, accidently moved the file with my cursor to inside another file. Worked 100% of the time for me the 3 times had done so to find it.

Try restarting your devices. And/or do a search for contacts.

@Desertdi I hadn't thought to look there. I too can see them there and it showed that I imported them but they always used to show up under the "People" or contacts because that's where I set them up. I need to see them there so I can edit if needed. It's just odd that it happened on both computers.
I ended up uninstalling the Outlook app on my desktop and reinstalled it. Now after waiting overnight my contacts are all back.

I swear, the "tech demons" are ALL OVER THE PLACE, and I am not a techy person.
I have a new "smart" furnace and water heater. Their "smarts" are driving me nutso! I'm in PHX, so I just need the furnace mostly for it's a/c use
But the water heater is a real bad boy. It turns on the heat for the water whenever it feels like it. I think it "wants" to have hot water at breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime.
I finally found the thermostat...under a metal panel and wads of insulation...but the parts are so small that this old gal can barely pick them up, let alone handle the teeny screwdriver at the same time. di

Unless you have an "on demand" water heater, that is how they work. There is a thermastat which monitors the water temperature and turns on if it drop below a certain level.

@LizzieInSRQ There are search results but none of them are recent, they are years old. I found a couple that looked promising and I tried all the steps they gave and none of it worked. I have restarted many times and ended up uninstalling the app on my desktop and reinstalling. Then they were finally back again. But why did they disappear to begin with is the question.
The strange thing is, they are apparently there because it said it imported them and when I go to address a new email they are there when I click TO and choose my recipients. But when I go to the "People" tab where they were all added, they're not there. So there's no way to edit them if needed.
