Novice Needs Help In Choosing A Camera

I have bought so many point and shoot cameras I've lost track. I give them to my daughters and friends because they aren't fast enough for me. Here's what I'd like to get: I want it as small as I can get. The Zoom doesn't have to be great (maybe 5, 6. I don't care for one that has smile ID, etc (I think they are gimics. It does need a stabilizer. More important (except for the stabilizer) it needs to have a quick recovery. I'd like to be able to hold down the button and take several in a row. QVC just showed a camera today or last night (with Rick) but it looked a little large because it had a crazy zoom. Can you guys point me in the right direction? I am a member of Consumer Reports.org. So I can look up on any camera as to how it stands up, but I don't know a good camera on where to start. Thanks ahead of time (Annabelle).
