Re: New here, Looking for Help

Don't spend a ton of money on a slow cooker.

I've had expensive and cheap ones since they came out in the 60s. The best slow cookers I've had are less expensive Crock Pot and Hamilton Beach.

Before the kids moved out, one of my favorites was the 4 qt Nesco that had options to brown meat, roast, and slow cook.

Hi @moe234 , welcome!! I still use an antique model that I bought 30 years ago, it's a crockpot.

Last month I purchased a Hamilton Beach 6 qt. programmable slow cooker. I got the Hamilton Beach 6 qt. at Walmart online, shipped for free and came in a couple of days.   it is just the right size for us two here and did not break the bank either. Total price was around $55 including tax, used Mr. Rebates,  Hamilton Beach has always been reliable for us. I have had a few slow cookers over the years that finally quit working, no complaints there, they lasted a long time....the original Crock Pot version I bought back in the 70's!

The cooker is easy to clean with the removable cooking pot and so far, so good! I also bought a slow cooker cookbook from Wal Mart as well to try some new recipes!

Re: New here, Looking for Help

@moe234 @Welcome. I have a red Crock Pot 6 qt that I purchased about 15 years ago and love it. It has a removable liner and it can be used for travel with locking handles on top. I purchased it from JC Penney. I don't have any settings like browning etc but I think next time I will look for that but I would stay with a "tried and true" brand like Crock Pot or Hamilton Beach.  Shop various store ads, especially with Fall and Holidays coming.
