I'm looking to buy a printer for home use. I usually buy HP printers, my current printer has to be 10 years old. I'm looking to spend no more than $100, I don't print that much but there are features I want such as automatic double sided printing and a touchscreen (I don't need Automatic Document Feeder). Most of the HP printers on Amazon don't have great reviews and I was thinking of switching to another brand. I saw a Brother printer for $80 and was wondering if anyone has a Brother printer? I'm open to any affordable recommendations.

We have an older Brother printer and love it. You can leave the double-sided selection "on," and it will print like that until you select single-sided (or however it's worded). Here is a screenshot from the printer app showing the model number at the bottom. I'm sure it's no longer made, but you could probably find this printer online (even if no longer made) and read about it. You might be able to find a current model similar to it. When this one dies, I will buy a Brother again. We buy generic ink cartridges from Amazon and have never had an issue printing. ETA...ours does not have a touchscreen, but it has physical buttons that are easy to understand.

@Ainhisg the model I looked at also has buttons, I wonder if they don't make printers with a touchscreen (maybe their more expensive models have it)?

I have a brother laser printer. I don't print as much as I used to so I appreciate using a toner cartridge instead of ink that can dry out, I don't care about color.

@Jordan2 I have a brother laser printer as well.  Love it.  I can buy toner cartridges at Costco and Amazon.

Shop for INK first and then decide which printer to get. Ink is where your money goes.

Add me to the laser printer fan club. Mine's about ten years old and still going strong on just the second toner cartridge. If you don't need color printing a laser printer is a good investment.

I have an HP Color Laser Printer and a Canon Inkjet Printer so I can't speak to Brother Printers. However I'd suggest you check reviews of the Brother Printer you're considering purchasing. If there are very few, that's not a good sign. If there are a considerable number but reviews tend to be mediocre or poor that's not a printer you want to purchase.
