@itsmetoo wrote:Thank you KonaKat. I have the old basic Kindle with the buttons on the side and was considering upgrading to the Paperwhite. From what you are saying then I guess you can't just tap the screen to turn the pages. That is a dealbreaker for me. Thanks so much for the info.
Hi itsmetoo, yes you are able to turn the pages by tapping the right side of the screen. If you tap the left side, it will go back one page. You don't have to literally "swipe." Touching is enough.
I'm getting to know the Paperwhite better now, and it's fine. You just have to get used to it, like anything else. I've had the Keyboard for several years, and I love it except that it doesn't have a light. I bought a few clip-on lights when I first got it, but the light makes it bulky. It did do well for me when we lost our power for a several days during Superstorm Sandy. At least I was able to read without holding a bulky flashlight.
I don't think I could justify spending $269 for the Voyage. That price includes 3G which I must have. Page flip tabs or not, that's a lot to spend on a Kindle reader.
You may want to reconsider the Paperwhite now that you know you can turn pages by tapping!
