NeoSploitExploitkit(type 87)

I just a notice from AVG saying this link on QVC is unsafe, the one in my title. All I did was reply to a thread about an HBO show, True Detective. I didn't click on any link in that thread. What gives?

Some anti-malware software is a little crazy sometimes and sees threats where none exists. If you're concerned I'd try running Malwarebytes to see if it finds anything, but you sometimes get a false alarm with some anti-malware software. I suspect the AVG software is looking for a specific script that it associates with this exploit kit, that script may not always be associated with the exploit kit though and could be a harmless script QVC is running.

That malware is an older type and probably not overly active in the wild at this time. As exploit kits went it reportedly was kind of pricey and didn't have a huge number of users. Most modern anti-malware should detect it since it's been around a while and protect you from it. My gut says this is probably a false alarm though.

I also use a cloud based anti-malware program Hitman Pro.
