Need a telephone

Went away for the winter and totally forgot that my phone doesn't ring no matter what I try. I can dial, it accepts messages, and if I happen to see it when someone is calling, I can answer and talk. Just no ring.

So, I've been looking for a new phone. I want the base and at least one other receiver. I've read reviews here at QVC, at Costco, and at Amazon. Is there a phone some place at less than $100 that gets consistently decent reviews? The one's I've read are either poor or so different one from the other that I don't trust the reviews at all.
