Need Help With Static In Radio

Ever since we had new lighting put in our finished basement we cannot listen to the FM radio. It is all static. We can only get AM radio. We had 8 flourescent(sp?) 32 watt u-shaped bulbs put in. Did anyone ever hear of this before and what can we do to correct this problem? TIA
