Need Help Getting New IPOD

Once again I turn to you ladies about which is which and what am I really looking for? Sorry, I'm talking in riddles. So, I haven't been able to find my IPOD for at least 4 or 5 months. It is somewhere in the house but it might as well be on another planet! I think it was just an IPOD Nano? I think. I can't even remember what it looked like (old age). I don't need a lot of GB because I'm just short of 65, so I'm choosy about my music. Can you guys/ladies explain the differences to me. I like the latest and greatest of whatever it is. I had to go out and get the IPAD2. I love it, but I don't use most of what it does. Please explain them to me. Thanks Annabelle!!
