I went to the trouble of putting all my passwords on my Iphone 5 and when I went back to them several days later, they appeared for a split second and then disappeared? Does anyone know why. There are notes I put on there about a year ago and they are still there.

Try manually ""closing"" the app. Hit your home button twice in a row (quickly) and then swipe the app ""up"" that you want to close. I have to do that with my iMessage sometimes.

I agree. If that doesn't work, try rebooting the phone. (Power off, then back on) That usually fixes most issues. You can also select options to back your Notes up when you backup your data with iTunes, which I recommend. They back up to your mail system; if you don't want them backed up in your email application, like Outlook, whatever the Mac email system is. You can also have them back up to an IMAP email account, like Gmail.
My office Outlook is linked to my phone and I don't want my notes backing up on my work email, so I have my notes backed up on my Gmail account.

Sounds like my emails on my iPad. I was sitting there looking at some email & they just disappeared right in front of my eyes. At least it has not done it for a while. I keep all my emails on the desktop so if the poof on my iPad I still have them. Only problem is junk email all goes to the iPad bulk mail & some if mail I want. Good Luck fixing your problem with your phone.

NeNe1010, Be sure you didn't inadvertently change some of the settings for your Notes.
Look in:
Settings--->Notes--->Default Account (see if you changed it from "On My iPhone")
and
Settings--->Mail, Contacts, Calendars (look at the "Notes" settings for all mail accounts)

What happens if someone steals or you lose your phone?

gib613, I left several letters or numbers blank so I it would refresh my memory as to what they were but anyone else would not have the complete information.

When I go to Settings>Notes>Default Account it is now set to Yahoo? Not sure how I did that but how do I fix it? Thanks.

If Yahoo is your email carrier, there is a snag with notes and Yahoo. I set up a dummy email account with Gmail, but still only use yahoo, and my notes are not disappearing any more.
