NOOK OR KINDLE FIRE

Soo I had thought if I got a Nook or Kindle Fire I wouldn't have to pay a data fee per month.

Does anyone know: is it just the nook or kindle that you just read books or magazines on that

don't have a data fee?

I had tried a Tablet once but found you had to have the internet and I couldn't even use it but in the same room as the PC lol. Which to me was useless. Guess our router is weak.
