NEED HELP - COMPUTER TECH?

I have a Dell computer (one year old) and it is giving me some trouble. I sometime get a clicking sound on the top left side and then a blue screen saying the the hard disk drive can not be detected. I have run some applications and get the message that the hard disk is working properly. I think it has something to do with Internet Explorer. Can anyone tell me what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks
