NEED CAMERA SELECTION ADVICE

I keep meaning to purchase a camera .....  mine has disappeared and I suspect it was accidentally thrown out.   Since QVC is having a 6 easy pay promo, I thought maybe now is the time .....

So .........  I want something really basic, easy to learn and use ....  the proverbial point and shoot camera.   I think about 95% of it's usage will be for photos for Ebay auctions, so creating clear pictures and good close-ups are a must.

Anyone have experience with a point and shoot camera they would recommend?

TIA !!    Woman LOL

I , personally, LOVE MY CANON camera..It is a point and shoot..Cannot stand cameras with those little windows,,that the sun completely blocks out what you are aiming at..There are different models,,mine has that little viewer that you look thru...I will not buy a camera without that little window..Purchased from QVC..

@Tinkrbl44 I've been looking for a new camera too, mainly for Ebay. I need a camera that takes clear concise up close photos. I'm interested in what recs you get here.

Well, that's a drag.

I agree that Canon is a good brand.  I've also done well with Sony digi-cams over the years.

I have a Panasonic I've been using lately and I don't think it's nearly as good as my last Sony.    The main reasons I bought that one was for macro (1" from subject, so I guess it's super-macro) and for the huge lens because often I need to shoot from a distance.

I own 3 different Canons, 2 point and shoot/1 digital SLR and they all take very good photos.

@Tinkrbl44-I have not.  I purchase my cameras from Target.  In stock and reasonably priced.

Re: NEED CAMERA SELECTION ADVICE

I have good luck with Panasonic and Sony cameras. But I certainly wouldn't buy one from QVC, they don't have good prices on any cameras....much cheaper on Amazon.

However, point & shoot cameras, new ones, are few and far between these days. The best USED camera out there that has a good lens is a Sony HX9V if you can find a good used one on eBay, I'd choose that over a new one.  Excellent for taking photos for eBay.  Also recommend a used Panasonic SZ7 for eBay photos.
