Mouse Question

My wireless mouse/keyboard are about a year old. Lately my mouse goes where it wants to go and I can't control it. I put new batteries in it since the light was blinking red, stopped when I put new batteries in. I had a regular mouse and keyboard before and never had this problem but this wireless mouse goes all over(pointer) and I can't always control it to click onto what I want.
