Just some clarification here. You can get malware by doing nothing. They are called "zero-click" attacks. The most well-known version is called Pegasus, but there are others also. They aren't common, but they're out there. Devil's Tongue is another version.
These are typically programs that originate in an intelligence agency and are used to spy on the media, foreign dignitaries, political rivals, etc.
You don't have to do anything wrong to get infected by these programs. The good news is they're not in widespread use, but they're out there.
And no make of computer or operating system is exempt from them. They can target any system out there.
