Making a deposit with iPhone

My bank offers the technology for me to make a deposit with my iPhone...cool beans! I'm from the banking world, but even I had reservations about the concept. Just took a picture front&back of the check & online deposited the image. Hold the check for 14 days, then destroy after that! Easy schmeasy! Hummmmm...Will my iPhone ever be an ATM? I'm shaking my phone really hard to see if cash falls out, but no go...! Giggle snort.
