MAC HELP PLEASE

I"m interested in buying a Mac laptop. I've always had Windows OS. I recently gotten tired of all the problems, viruses etc that seem to be associated with Windows. I understand a majority of these problems don't happen with the MAC OS. Anyway, can anyone tell me if this is true and what would be your choice Mac Air or Mac Pro??? Thanks for any info, I really appreciate your feedback, as its a big purchase for me and I need some tech savy help!!!
