I have both.  I used the desktop a lot when we were still in business--just more convenient for making up forms and doing business stuff.  I also have a Chromebook notebook, which is OK, but not that great.  The Chromebook doesn't handle Windows forms and so I couldn't use it for work.  Also has other issues that I just don't like.  Had a SurfacePro before that, and I loved it, but it was unreliable and the keypad was not the best.  It died pretty quickly and was really expensive, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.  Had an iPad before that and it lasted a long time, but it just isn't my kind of thing--I wouldn't have another one.

I'd never be without a desktop, but will always need to have a notebook, too.  I use the notebook wherever I go, but for the business issues I still have to deal with there is no replacement for a desktop.

I only use my iPad & I love it. I can do everything on it that I can do on a laptop or desktop.I write letters, print etc.

DH loves the wireless desktop. It needs to be replaced & I suggested he get an iPad or a laptop. He absolutely refused.

No laptops for me.  I like large screens.  Using a desktop with a 24 inch screen.  Next will be 27".

No reason to replace the tower and monitor when they died years ago.  I have 2 laptops and 2 tablets.

Re: Laptop or Desktop?

[ Edited ]

I have all three...dt, lt and tab. They all serve my needs.

My laptop is a Chromebook which can convert to a tablet where I can use it just like any other Android tablet. I love my CB...it's the best of both worlds and it never needs me to put security software on it. If it dies or when it quits updating then I will get another
CB...absolutely yes! It's maintenance-free.

Get a Chromebook! @FlowerBear  You will be so happy you did.

I have a laptop and can't imagine I would ever want a desktop again.  When I first switched to a laptop about eight years ago I was worried that the smaller 13" screen size would bother me.  It's fine though.  I'm on my second MacBook Air and love it.

I don't have a tablet and don't think I would want one.  I like to type on a keyboard.

I have an iPad Pro the big one that’s 12 inches. I use it for everything it is just the perfect size, great picture I can even watch movies on it and with the retina display it’s so clear.

I have a desktop that I use occasionally but sitting hunched over a computer is so tiring. When it dies I probably will not replace it.
