Anyone have a lighted keyboard?
Mine is an HP laptop and the background light is always on. When I came home from errands it wasn't on and I have no idea where the on/off adjustment is.
Any suggestions are very welcome. I can barely see the letters!

This is an interesting question. I currently have a HP Envy laptop and previously had another model HP laptop. Both had lighted keyboards that I love. I work in low light or dark rooms and need the light to see what I'm typing. I turn off the lighted function in the daytime when it's not needed.
Neither of the keyboards stayed lit all the time. Mine goes dark after non use...and after checking this one, that's currently 30 seconds. This works fine for me and I don't want to fiddle with anything. I have a hard enough time keeping my cat from scrolling on the touch screen and changing settings while sitting/walking on the keyboard now!!

I really like the lighted keyboard, but I'll never get a rose gold finish again. Having a darker finish, like charcoal gray, makes the light much easier to see.

I thought perhaps it was a standard thing ... like Control Alt Delete ... and anyone would know.
I got it working with Fn and F5.
Thanks for your input. ![]()

Great, I got rose gold but haven't used it much yet.

@Tinkrbl44 Great post, I had the same question! I have a new HP laptop that I received recently as a birthday gift. I'm still learning my way around it. At times the keyboard is impossilbe to see, very frustrating. Anyway, I just Googled and found out how to turn/off the keyboard light. The key (F4) is on the top row of keys. It's the one that looks like a keyboard with rays all around it. And you don't need to press the Function key with it to turn it on or off. What a difference!

I also have an (fairly new) HP...F4 doesn't seem to do anything at all...

I have an HP Pavilion laptop that's almost three years old. My F11 key has the picture of the keyboard with rays around it. Pressing the key cycles through bright, dim, and off.

My Hp laptop I bought last year has a lighted keyboard that turns off after a short time.
I went into the Bios settings and changed the factory settings to keep it on until I turn it off.
