If you are happy with your phone, the simplest way to go is to purchase the one year service with 400 minutes card. You can buy the card for $99 at Walmart or Target, or any number of places. You can add the time & minutes on your phone by following the instructions on the card. The minutes will automatically triple. Both QVC & HSN will be having special deals on phones coming up for the holidays soon, if you have any thoughts on upgrading.

The easiest way is to buy another tracfone phone bundle. Once you start looking at prices, you'll quickly see just buying minutes/air time costs more. You can either use the new phone or put the new minutes on the old phone. You don't have to wait until your time runs out on the old phone. Any time you have left will stay on the old phone (if that's what you keep) or move to the new phone. So you don't lose that time either way.

When it was time to do something with my tracfone, I found buying a new phone was a better option. I bought E226238 on the q when it was a TSV. It's currently $79 with free shipping. I like the phone better than the LG840. Just my preference.

I did that once, too. I have been reading the TracfoneReviewer blog about new and upcoming offers on android phones. I would like a better camera, WIFI and maps & directions. It would be worth it to buy the phone you got and transfer the minutes to 1500 each talk, text and data to an android after the holidays.

sassy lassy, this may be of help to you in getting some bonus minutes when you add your 400.

As mentioned in post 6 go to google and search for TRACFONE REVIEWER BLOG.

Scroll way down until you come to TRACFONE PROMO CODES. If you are able to buy the 400 mins, you may get 250 bonus minutes.

I just found this site thanks to cantdrive55. I have bookmarked it for my own use.

Tracfone is not a high end smartphone. The best bet is to buy a new phone bundle. A card with 400 minutes cost $99.00 for 365 days.

A link to promo codes. http://tracfonereviewer.blogspot.com/p/tracfone-promo-codes.html

Do like I've done for many years. Look over on hsn and they will usually have a newer phone and it will cost you less than adding a years worth of minutes on it's own. Stay with TracFone because in my opinion, their use of 2 of the biggest providers, have given me better connections with no dropped calls than my wife with Sprint/Virgin Mobile or T-Mobile alone.

If you want a "full on smart phone" you can also wait until hsn has a sale on a Samsung Galaxy SII or SIII, and you can get a monthly prepaid plan for as low as $35 per month.

If you are like myself that rarely uses a cell phone, stick with something like I have which is a Samsung Centura, which is not a full smart phone in my opinion, but you can e-mail/get on the net/text/download and all those features. This phone is just more difficult to operate these features and is not near the phone as the SII and SIII I mentioned above.

My older phone had only 3 weeks left on the time before expiration and to add the 365 days to it would have cost me $120. I bought the Century for $79.99 delivered and it came with 1200 minutes talk time/1200 texts/and 1200 of data. With this they added 3 more months to make it 15 months and also transferred over my over 4,000 minutes. This 4,000 was also added to the "texts and the data plans". So $80 divided by 15 months? That is $5.33 per month for me.

I plan on doing the same thing again but my expiration is not until August 2015 so I won't be looking to buy for quite awhile.
