My Tracfone all of a sudden shows the albums I have under Gallery and how many photos but NO photos will show up-just a black area. I have taken the battery out put the battery back in. Restarted it. It has been acting up all day and I don't mess around with mine a lot. I have no new apps installed. I have been looking for several months for a new Tracfone and almost bought the Samsung Galaxy Sky but decided to wait for one with a better camera. Everything else I liked. I am sure they will have something soon on HSN or QVC. I read that Android OS was thinking of getting rid of the Gallery App and use the Google Photos instead. I have a lot photos on the Google App.

I don't want a payment on a phone every month that is why I like Tracfone. Also I have always had excellent phone coverage where I live.

NOTE:

Anyone with Time Warner - HSN is now Channel 176 and QVC is 159 and still on Channel 480 also so far. For Channel HSN I got a Time Warner email about the change starting March 14th but not the QVC one. Smiley Happy

Re: LG LG41C Tracfone Problem

I'm just curious @MKR14, when you go to My Files app, to images, are you able to acess your individual photos there?

What OS is in your phone?

@x Hedge  Yes I can see the Images under File Manager. The Tracfone has 4.4.1 Android OS. The Photos when opened locks the phone sometimes under Gallery. I also have Google Photos that give me no problem. Gallery shows 1 photo under 1 album and then all is black under the other albums.

I found a great site In Love With Android. It didn't solve my problem but I had several things to try. I took the battery out again and also my SD card. Shut the phone off and then back on. I won't reset it back to factory settings as I will buy another new updated phone first.

Re: LG LG41C Tracfone Problem

Good! It's a KitKat. Let's hope a little Samsung experience also applies to LGs in this case.

When I open my Samsung pre-Lollypop era photo gallery I have a drop down menu to choose whether I want to see Albums, All, Locations, People, Favorites.
If you have that choice, try 'All' instead of 'Albums'.

When I open my photo gallery I also have a menu (next to the 'Home' button) that allows me to rearrange photos in the gallery.
This menu also offers 'Content to Display' and the choice to 'Hide' pictures.
Check your settings in these two to make sure you didn't accidentally check or tap something and hide pictures from yourself (I have!)

"Gallery shows 1 photo under 1 album and then all is black under the other albums" -tap the one photo that is displayed, see if the rest in that album appear.

In Task Manager, is Gallery default setting correct?

I'm also wondering if you're overdue for an update and that is interfering with picture display (?)

@MKR14, They re-vamped Android OS after KitKat.
I wasn't prepared for the new look and 'simplification' post-KitKat that, to me, seems to be a downgrade.

There are fewer settings choices in the phones after KitKat.
I run one of the 'new and improved' phones, (Lollipop and newer) for the 4G speed on Internet.
But I'm SO glad I kept my older OS phone, which I use for texting and some calls. When you try a newer OS you may decide to keep the KitKat.

Time Warner changed their name. Securant? Security?
Something like that.

@x Hedge I did click on the one photo in the album and then that photo was gone. I tried to update the KitKat and it is 4.4.2 and it won't update. It says it is the newest update. I do have my Photos set on All. I made sure they aren't hidden also. The Task Manager has all the contents broken down into sections. Everything looks ok. I had read the SD card could be bad but didn't change it out. What I did do is uninstall my Google Photo App and reinstalled it. Now my Photos are updated under the Google App that I also have on my iPads. That worked really well and updated nicely. I made sure it was an App that I could reinstall before I did it. I still get the black albums under Gallery so I decided just to use the Google Photos instead.

Thanks for your ideas. I will double check the hints when I bring up my phone in the morning as I shut it off around 6 each night. One thing I love on mine is the HiYa App that is free for blocking unwanted calls. You can just click on Contacts only and all others will be blocked. I don't give my cell number out only usually to my family or doctors and they are in my Contacts.

Thanks as I saw others on the internet with the same Gallery problem. 🙋🏻
