I just hung up from Tivo.  They told me that I had a problem with my Comcast modem.  After we hung up, the modem connected again.  Now I'm on the "Getting Setup Info" screen of the Tivo.  I'm hoping that rebooting the router and modem will get this working.

I hope so!  I keep thinking about you and hoping that things are moving along.

I'm one of those people for whom it seems like if ANYTHING can possibly go wrong, it will.   One of my biggest hopes for others is that they don't have to deal with that.

At some point during the 'getting info' part, the Tivo should (fingers crossed) find your network and put up a field where you can punch in your network passcode, assuming you have one.

It seems to be working now!  It's getting program info now.  It said this was an update and would take around 55 minutes.  It also checked channels and said they were set up.  Yea!  I'll get to use it tonight and set up my season passes.  Thanks for your help CB.

YAY!  I'm so happy.  Smiley Happy   Oh, and - whew!  hehe

Glad you're on the move.   It seems to me that it never takes as long as it says it will take, so that's something.

Once you can see it on tivoonline, you can move stuff there from the other one, if that's what you're doing, BUT you need to plug the old one into the electricity and still have it on the network until you finish that.  Otherwise it won't appear on your account for doing things.  It doesn't need to be plugged into a tv or anything.  Just as long as it's plugged into the wall and still on the network you can do it.

I have some 200 SPs on my main Tivo and one valuable bit of info that one Tivo CSR gave me was to not just whoosh ALL the SPs over at the same time.  He said that might overload thing.  So, I spent a bunch of time on that first day, tediously moving a few at a time.

I didn't know you could do that, but I will.  I still had some shows that I hadn't watched, too.  I couldn't get them all caught up by today.  It wasn't anything important though.

Re: LED vs. Smart TV's

Just another FYI -

It's actually online.tivo.com.  You can go there, log into your Tivo account, and there are buttons like 'Manage' and sub-buttons like 'Season Passes' (oops, keep forgetting the new name), 'To Do List', etc.

(I hate it when they change the names of stuff!)

CB, I just hung up from Comcast.  My cable card hadn't been activated by the first person that I spoke with, and they needed the S/N from the Tivo to get it to work.  Then as soon as I hung up, my internet and telephone went out.  I had to call them to reset my modem.  The TV delivery people arrived at 1:30 today, and I've spent until now trying to get this working.

Now Tivo is working, but the volume and mute button on my Tivo remote don't work.  I am not sure what to do about that, but I can use my remote to my TV.  I think I'll wait until tomorrow to call them again.  This hasn't gone nearly as smoothly as I'd hoped.

Ya need to pair the remote up to the TV.  If you go to settings, then down near the bottom, 'Remote, CC, & Devise Setup', and then you'll see 'Remote Control Setup'.

You follow that.  It will give a bunch of codes depending on the brand of TV you have it on.  You follow the directions, choosing a code until it works.  Once you can turn the tv off you have the right code and that will also control volume, etc.  HTH!  Smiley Happy

Thank you!  That was easy.  It worked on the second number.
