You should check the service manual of your laptop.
You may want to charge your laptop using a good quality surge protector like Tripp Lite or APC. I usually buy at Amazon. Amazon has a buying guide for the "boxes". Some people have all house surge units built in their electrical systems and may not need separate units.

Some of mine are several years old.
I also use mine plugged in, but about once a month I use one unplugged and let the battery go down pretty low, then charge it back up. I can't remember why I do this because I'm an idiot now. I just remember it being something recommended a few years ago - for some reason.
It sounds like something that might contribute to battery health in some way.

It depends on how new your laptop is; many newer laptops have battery protection built in. Both of my laptops have this so I leave them plugged in all the time as they are used primarily as desktop replacements.
If your laptop is older or does not have this feature it would be best to let the battery run down to at least 70% periodically.
