I am in the market for a tablet. I made the mistake and bought the 7"Proscan from QVC and it turned out to be junk. Quit working after less than 2 months. What are the major differences between the IPad and Kindle? I am not tech savvy but don't want a throw away like I had.
Thanks!

My vote is for the iPad.

Kindle is fabulous for reading and does access the internet. For one only, and IPad no question. It has more apps, and is more the industry standard for tablets. With computers and such, it is not simply what the individual piece of equipment can do, it is about the things you can get to put on it, the support, and how that machine interacts with the world around it. Considering the computing environment, Apple has it all over Kindle as far as versatility, software options, user base, operating system standardization, and support.

A few years ago I bought my daughter a Kindle and it lasted one month over the warranty period (one year). Too late to do anything about it. She invested a little more money and went for the Ipad...no complaints and it's well over the warranty period. Go for the Ipad!

Unless you NEED Apple specific apps I personally do not see the need for the $$$ of an iPad.
We have laptops, Google Nexus 7 and 9 tablets and one iPad. The iPad is used the least of the bunch. There is nothing wrong with it, we are just not an Apple based family we are more Windows and Google due to use of use.
PS- Apple accessories and products are VERY expensive in comparison.
Also- if you are someone who needs/apprec. LIVE support or help, find out where your closest Apple store is before you purchase. Ours is an hour away. They are great, but you need an appt and it is an hour drive. NO ONE else will touch an Apple product.

We here like Samsung, and right now if I were to buy one for myself it would be the Tab3.

I wouldn't spend the extra money for an IPad unless I had an apple phone. Ipad may have more apps than Kindle, but Kindle has plenty of apps to satisfy most people.
I am an Amazon lover, so of course I want a Kindle.
I own the Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire HDX and the newer Paperwhite. I love them all.
The Kindles do everything I want.
You can get free books with the Kindles and I don't believe you can do that with the Ipad. That's the only thing I know that the Kindle does that the Ipad doesn't do.
I'm not sure what Ipad does that the Kindle doesn't do.
