I took the jump and bought one and love it. I still feel the $199  is a tad much but it feels faster, thinner, brighter  than the paperwite.  I just feel  they should have  added more storage given the price. I love the front and seperate back page press. The back page press appears to be a sensor of some kind for we have two little round camera looking things ( do not know how to word it).

Anyways funny yet embarassing story. I thought I cracked the screen after one day. I was mortified. I contacted amazon and they agreed to send me a free replacement ( even though purchased at best buy)   for its warenteed for 1 year even though  it was my fault.

Anyways turns out  the scratch was a thin string of iceing from the Zingers I ate for lunch and not a scratch.  I swear to god it looked like a huge scratch. But embarassingly I had to contact amazon to cancel the replacement order.

That's funny! I left one of my kindle's in a motel while visiting my son at college. I was so upset. Called them & they sent someone to the room to look for it. They found it & my son drove over & picked it up. I was lost without it for the few days it took for it to get mailed back to me.

I love the Voyage. I've debated getting the Oasis but it's $290? Now that's outrageous...

I own a Kindle paperwhite. I accidentally ran it through a wash cycle, with liquid detergent. When I pulled out the clothes and saw my new Paperwhite,I was so upset. I put it in a bag of rice and called Amazon. They said if it didn't start in some days they would replace. I left it 5days and then powered it on. It worked perfectly. Still, Amazon has very good customer service.

I have had multiple Kindles and Paperwhites over the years, but have recently started reading on my iPad. I thought it would bother me more than it does, but so far no eye issues. And I was always a huge proponent of e-ink, front-lit devices. Hmmmm.....

When and if my current e-reader (Kindle Keyboard) dies I plan on buying the Voyage, but I think $200 is too much, so I'll wait till the price comes down.

So glad you like your Voyage.

I have tablets including the Nook branded one. I like the eink especially when reading outside. On a tablet I have to push up the brightness  level outside. I rather have an ereader in oublic for i am always worried my tablet will get stolen. I am in the inner ity and shady  people all over lol

I love my Oasis. I haven't read once on my Paperwhite since I bought it. Everything about it is better than my Paperwhite. Ok probably not battery life. This is really what the first kindle should have been. The buttons are so much better now than on the original kindle. As is the contrast and functionality. I did end up getting the 3G version this time after going wifi only on my Paperwhite.

Very true, you can't read outside on a tablet - but I don't at this time in my life, so not an issue for me. Once upon a time my Kindle was with me every day at work. I'm now retired, so not necessary for me to take anywhere. I use my phone for short-term entertainment.
