Need suggestions for unfreezing Kindle Paperwhite. When charging on computer, the screen froze after I ejected the device and removed cable. Have done the 40 second restart several times and no results. Alll it does is flash a couple of times and freeze on the Kindle logo screen. Can this Kindle be saved or will I be shopping for a new one? Thanks for any help!

Re: Kindle Paperwhite Frozen

Things I do.  Shut down and then reopen.  Okay that does not work.  Next pull the battery and then put  it back in.    Next since all that failed.... call Amazon.  They have an amazing customer service and technical department.

Thanks for suggestions. Did call Amazon and they finally said there was no way to fix it. Smiley Sad Guess I'll be looking for sales and buying a new one.

Re: Kindle Paperwhite Frozen

I just went through this. My Kindle melted during charging (right where you plug it in) and I like it so much, I wanted the same unit so I didn't care it wasn't current.

If your Paperwhite is the previous generation (they are up to what, six generations of Kindles, now?) you can replace it with the previous generation Paperwhite for a lot less than the current price of 119 to 139. The older ones are under sixty bucks.

I can't do without mine. It goes everywhere with me.

Don't hesitate to call Amazon for help.  The few times I have had to call them for help with my Kindle the rep. was very helpful and everything was resolved easily.
