Kindle Fire HD 8.9?

I have a gift card from Amazon and was thinking of using it to buy the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 since they have the $30 off that ends tonight. I would have to pay the difference and was wondering if I should use the gift card on that. For those who have one, what is your experience with it? Is it worth it? Are their any problems and how do the apps look since it's HD?
