Yes. Go back to Post #38, about shortcuts with an illustration.

(In Settings, it's under General, then Keyboard, then Shortcuts, and the plus "+" sign allows you to add new ones.)

I've even created a shortcut by going to Settings - General - Keyboard & created a shortcut for each action.

BTW, I've typed all this out on my iPad!

Thank you! This is a great thread and when I get a chance will have to experiment. I just got an iPad mini so I'm assuming I will have the same problems with paragraphs. I know I did when my husband first got his iPad and I tried it out and found that I couldn't make paragraphs here with it.

I also have a Macbook Air and though I can easily make paragraphs with it I can't get the emoticons to work on it. ....will have to experiment
