Imessage on iMac and I phone not syncing

I upgraded to system 10.14.3 and since yesterday my I messages on the computer have been timing out.

At first it did not work with the upgrade, spent time on the phone with Apple care, issue resolved.

Open the machine this morning and well guess what it was not working again.

Spent an hour on the phone with Apple Car, it worked until I closed the computer.

Spent another hour plus with yet another tech this afternoon, left the house at 5 when I got home at 8 it is not working again.

I am tired of spending time and getting no where, I can only believe that this is a malfunction caused by the system upgrade

Re: Imessage on iMac and I phone not syncing

Hi.

This happened recently to me between my iphone 6s Plus and a new MacBook Air.  I, too, called Apple Support who finally suggested a hard shut down where I held down the power key for one minute or so and left it that way for a bit.  When I powered the MacBook back up, the two were synced again.

@Must Love Dogs

I and thanks Apple care can get it to sync, but it seems to lose the sync as time goes on

@I am still oxox

What troubleshooting efforts did Apple have you do?

"Open the machine"

"I closed the computer"

Need clarification please.

Open - turning your computer on = cold start?

Waking from sleep?

Closed - shutting down?  Sleep?

@Mz iMac

I had 4 conversations with different people.

Basic trouble shooting.

Make a new personality in the  User Groups and Imessages worked

Shut off both I messages and Facetime both in preferences and the program.

Lots of other stuff that my tired and annoyed brain is not letting me recall.

I have to suspect that it is an issue with the system up date, since it had not happened prior to the update

Once it started working they did not have me mimic sleep or shut the cover

Update, I just restarted the Mac and I can test from the it, I am wondering it there is a "sleep" "shutdown" issue  that seems to break the connection, in the new upgrade

According to my research, there appears to be a "bug" w/Mojave & iMessage which Apple has not confirmed *yet.*.  Check Google & Apple Forums for "user" troubleshooting methods.   Post in the Mojave forums if necessary.  Most times the usrs/helpers there have "tips & tricks" that Apple will not acknowledge.

Try the suggestion mentioned--> macosxblog.com/imessages-not-working-mojave/

Since you have AC, give them another call.  Advise them their suggestions are not working.  Ask them if this is a "known bug."  If so, will same be corrected w/the next OS update.
