IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO SILENCE

your microwave beeper?  Ours beeps 4 times when through cooking even if you open the door.  If you don't get to it right away it keeps beeping as a reminder..........DRIVING ME NUTS!!

Probably have to find the wire to it & cut it. LOL!!!

DH did that in his truck. It was always dinging so he cut the wire.

I GOOGLED it and that seemed to be the common suggestion.  This one is built in and I am not about to dismantle the thing LOL.  One person suggested pressing the #2 for 3 seconds.  That didn't work on ours.  Oh well.........beep, beep, beep,

I also have four sets of beeps.  What gets me is I can barely hear the one beep the oven emits with the TV on.  Nothing serious happens if you forget something in the microwave, try forgetting something in the oven for a half hour.  It can be a catastrophe.

Re: IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO SILENCE

My microwave bell is SO LOUD it is painful.  One of these days I'm going to fall and break something as I run to get to it before it pierces my eardrum.  I got out the owner's manual hoping to find help - nothing.  I called the manufacturer and I got the impression the representative thought I was a weirdo for even asking - obviously no help.  I've even thought about just buying a new one but I'm not sure if hearing/testing it in the store would be the same as bringing it home.  I'm glad I'm not alone, but also sorry that this appears to be a common problem.

You could rewrite the software to only beep once!

The beeping will stop on mine when I press the Stop button.

Re: IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO SILENCE

I have a Kenmore that beeps 5 times when done and then stops. It's not too loud and I don't hear it unless I'm near the kitchen.

I wouldn't like endless beeping either.

Re: IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO SILENCE

If you haven’t already, check your manual.  Some models do offer the ability to change the volume of the beeps, or silence them altogether.
