IPhone or IPad

My phone contract will be up in July and I'm trying to decide on what to do. I presently have a smartphone and love a smartphone - ie check email, twitter, facebook, read newspapers, and occasionally surf the web. I don't play music or games on a phone. I do take pictures but don't send them to the computer. Don't know how to do any of that kind of stuff.

I presently have a Kindle HD - 7" - which I still plan to carry with me for convenience. I would like to watch movies on a larger screen and am intrigued with all the apps that Apple has. The closest Apple Store is about 70 miles from me and I don't even know anyone with an Iphone or Ipad though I see people with both.

I guess, why I'm intrigued with the Iphone or Ipad is SURI...! I think I would find "her" very helpful.

I will not have a contract phone again so that's a consideration and I wish I could afford both but I can't. So I can't decide which I should purchase. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks for your opinion.
