We still have a landline phone so i rarely have my iPhone on. When I would turn it on any calls or texts that came in while the phone was off would show up but now nothing is coming thru unless the phone is on. I didn't change anything so I'm not sure why this is happening. Anyone else have this issue?
Thank you

@Squirt60 , here is what Google says...
No. Your phone can not display information regarding a 'missed call' when it was powered off or otherwise had no service as the phone never received the call at all.

It always did before. Every time I would turn my phone on all calls and texts that came thru would show up but now it doesn't.
Thank you for your reply.

Texts are only kept on Apple servers for 24 hours, so if it's been longer than that they will have been deleted.

Why turn off the phone? Just mute the sound or send it to sleep. Then your texts and missed calls will show up when you log back in.
Check to be sure your updates are current. You never know if something changed in them.
The only time I turn off my iphone is for church. It's off 60-75 minutes and I get everything I missed when it's turned back on. If my iphone is turned off longer than that, I sometimes don't get everything.

@Squirt60 - I would just leave the phone turned on and as @CalminHeart suggested, just silence it. The iPhone is designed to be on all the time.

@Squirt60 I have an iphone and we have a landline also. I keep my phone turned down and occasionally check messages and phone calls.
After getting a message from a new physician's office on my iphone, when I specifically indicate in my medical records to phone on the landline, I finally put a message on my phone.
It says " if you are not on my contacts list, I will not return your call. If you are phoning from a doctor or dentist office, other than to cancel an appt, please call the landline. The number is in your records. Thank you"

Oddly enough, the thing modern phones are least good at is being phones. They're great cameras, entertainment devices, media devices, GPS units, clocks/timers, etc., and they're okay phones. Given everything else you do with a phone, it's rare to keep one turned off. I'm typing this on my phone.
I suspect your issue is one of timing. When your phone is "off" it's like it doesn't exist any longer. Service providers can't store data for every phone that ever existed and assume they're just turned off and will be turned back on later. They likely have a window of time until they say, "Well, that phone's gone!" and move on. This is likely a provider issue more than a phone issue also. Verizon, Comcast, AT&T, whoever, has likely altered their policy and that's what's causing your issue. You might want to contact them to learn their policy.
