My iPad has no sound on some videos, incoming - outgoing emails have no notices. Keypad no sounds. I went into my settings and reset my sounds which they did sound when resetting. The mute button on the back is not on mute. Has anyone else had this happen? Why do some videos have sound and nothing else has? Do I need a new iPad? Thanks for any help Tucker

Don't know what gen you have but there was a new update recently 8.1.3. Have you updated?

tucker, I'm not sure about the videos, but it seems to me you have the "system sounds" muted.

Even though you've checked the switch, take a look at "Settings--->General--->Use Side Switch To."

If you've selected "Mute," the side switch will control the system sounds. If it's set on "Lock Rotation," you need to look in the "Control Center" (swipe up from the bottom of any screen). You'll see a bell-shaped icon with a line through it -- tap that icon and you'll see it toggles system sounds on and off.

I'm not sure why the iPad has so many ways to change sounds, but it definitely took me a while to get used to them. Thanks for the tips, DooB!
