Apple never publicly reveals its upcoming products until they want to.  However, there is a website called Macrumors that purports to have some inside information on what's upcoming.  I don't know how accurate it is.  However, you might give it a look-see.

I have wanted to get the new iPad Pro but not sure I want to spend the money on it, also there is a problem with some of them bending. I then was wondering if I could be happy with the iPad?  Reading articles and watching videos of a comparison of the two, it seems if you can afford it, go with the iPad Pro. I also read if you aren't in a hurry, wait until March as Apple may have an announcement of a new iPad for 2019.

I used to love my 2 Samsung Pro Tablets but the Samsung updates have added  unneeded bloatware that cannot be removed.  I had those dern tablets set up just the way I wanted and Samsung went ahead and changed the whole shabang.   Not good.  So, in time, I will be switching to an Ipad.  I do have a chromebook that is quite wonderful, but I am spoiled and like to have different tools.

I have the Samsung galaxy tab A and I have had no problems with updates I hardly realized they were updating until I got a message telling me that my updates were completed. I have two CB's one from HP and the other is a newer one from acer. Love them too I will never go back to the dreaded windows devices ever again.

Thanks for your info!  I will do a "cleanse" and start from scratch.
