I need help with a computer problem

I am working on a document in a template I downloaded from someone I am doing work for ... I did unlock the document so that I was able to type in it ..

The problem is: I am unable to unlock the document so that I can see how many characters, words, lines are in the document ... I know this info is at the bottom of the page, but I need the additional info that is usually in the little box when you click "review" ... I am using MS Word 2010 ... the "review" option is not showing on the bar ...

I hope someone here can help ... I've called all of my friends that I thought would be able to help ... even called the tech that helped me set up my computer and he has not even called me back ...

HELP ...
