I called Apple today about something I downloaded and spoke to a very nice young man i was on the phone for over an hour. I believe he was located in Austin, TX (And i must say he was totally patient and efficient!)
In conversation I mentioned to him about the Q offer he said "If you are not calling 1-800-My apple" then you aren't getting the Apple company.
There are many "knockoff" companies that will charge you by the call time & many of these bundle packages are sold with tech support which most likely has been "outsourced" to knock off companies.
The other thing he pointed out (which he did today): Be careful who you allow to take over access to your computer on-line as he had to give me the Apple disclosure before he could go into my IMac system so he could correct my "mistake". This had the watermark for Apple encrypted in it.
My Apple Warranty/Care was $100 for 3 years which I thought was affordable.
First thing I would do when I rec'd the TSV would be to call the # above and confirm it is APPLE tech support.
Hopefully it is because the description said "premier tech support".
