I have a question. Some of you say you keep your cell phone "for emergencies ONLY."

Do you keep it charged?  One poster said they kept it in the glove box??

@Zhills. I use my phone rarely but of course I keep it charged and in my purse.  Too easily stolen if left in the car.  I do turn it completely off and only need to charge it about once every 4-6 weeks.

It doesn't use juice when completely off?  Does it connect easily when you turn it on? I never turn mine completely off.

I preserve the battery usage on my phone by turning off the wifi connection and use the battery-saver mode. Don't leave it in the car b/c temperatures hi and lo can shorten the battery life.

I also put it in airplane mode and turn the power off when I'm at home.

@smoochy.  I get all of my calls on my landline phone at home.  Never give anyone the cell number.

I only use a cell phone. I take it with me when I go out. I charge as needed.

@ellaphant  Me too - I got rid of my landline about 5 years ago.
