Don't hesitate! Run don't walk to get one! I have a 13" mac book pro with retina and I have an ipad....love both of them. I have 20% vision in my left eye and I'm diabetic and deal with blurry vision so I know all about eye issues. I have no problem with either of these devices. I sit in a lot of meetings and both of these devices are helpful. My daughter is in her second year of grad school. She's so busy with work, her internship and school I don't know how she manages it all. Right before she started school last year we gave her a mac book air and an ipad and she says she never would have gotten thru school without that mac book air. She loves both of them. At the apple store they'll help with whatever issues you may have and have classes for everything. You can't go wrong with apple.... In fact my daughter loves her apple products so much she just helped her dad thru the process of buying a mac book air just like the one my husband and I gave her. The manager of the apple store was so impressed with her knowledge of the products that she offered her a job on the spot!! Now mind you, my daughter is a social worker working in mental health and loves what she does but she says it's nice to know she could have a job somewhere else if she wanted lol.

If size is the issue, I'll tell you I have a 13" MacBoook Pro, by choice - it's eminently portable and I do not have trouble typing or reading. In fact, the keyboard is just like the wireless one that I use with the larger iMac. Great machine. Sleek and functional.

If anyone is contemplationg any Mac equipment, a trip to an Apple store with your list of questions can be SO helpful! Even if it's a few hour drive, try to arrange a "field trip" with a friend or group of friends. There are, of course, some "duds" among the sellers, but if you really want to know what your dollars can get you, and you keep asking the questions until you're satisfied, it really is worth the trouble of getting there. Good luck to all potential Apple shoppers. Couldn't be without mine!
