Just got a new I-phone 12 and find it to be very slippery.  Hope you can understand my use of "slippery."  The other day I was handing it to someone and the blasted thing just slipped out of my hand. Can any of you suggest a case I could purchase that would make this less slippery?  The phone cost too much to ruin this soon.

You should always use a case just because of the expense of the phone. My husband just got a nice case at sams club but walmart has many also, I think his is made by otter box, they make a good case.

Funny story my daughter is a pilot, today is her first day copiloting a commercial plane but a few years ago a friend took her up on a stunt plane and she dropped her phone, a few weeks later a  high school called her, they  found her via facebook they had found her phone on their football field!  Thank goodness it did not hit anyone but the phone was perfectly fine and she had it in an otter box!

Also wanted to add I use those pop socket things not sure if that is what they are called they are round and adhere to the back of the phone and you pull it out it makes it easier to handle your phone anyway they are wonderful at least I think so.

Wow @spumoni99 that's some story about your daughter's lost phone.  What's unbelievable is the honesty of the person who found it.  There really are some good people in this world.

I know a school administrator called her I cant remember if it was a teacher or a student that found the phone but your right, I think she had already replaced it by the time it was found but it was still nice to get it back.

My daughter-in-law's phone went into the fishing hole in an icehouse . It was sinking really slow and she was able to reach in and grab it ! However as she pulled it out of the hole , it slipped out of her hand and flew into a different fishing hole ! There it sank quickly . 16 feet under water , a good case with grips might of saved it !

You can find cases everywhere but be sure to get a durable one.  We use Speck that has a ribbed texture and is clear so you can see the color of your phone.  Apple has a bunch on their site and Otterbox is a very good one.  I personally don't like the attachable phone grips, but that is just my preference.  You also need a screen protector.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

Have you seen the ring devices that attach to the back of the phone?  You slip a finger through the ring to hold it in your hand or you can grab it by the ring.

@coffee drinker I recommend putting the protective clear cover over the phone's glass as well. I dropped my fairly new phone recently onto some rocks. There was a small chip on the outer edge of the screen and a v-shaped crack that ran horizontally across its face. No doubt the glass would have shattered without the case and the cover. I do have Apple Care and could get the screen replaced, but I am not near an Apple store and I do not want to ship it to Apple. It is fine, in good working order with a clear screen, and in no way interferes with the use of the phone. The protective gear is money well-spent.
